Bill Guandolo is the inspiration behind Dolo. Bill has multiple interests and one is clearly his creative side of writing, performing and playing his original songs. A few of his friends used to call him "Dolo" for short and when he was putting his original band together all the other names seemed to just miss the mark. One day in the studio the bands producer, John Custer, who had written Dolo on the demo tapes looked up and said, "Why don't you just call the band Dolo?" And that is what stuck.
Bill’s poetic inspiration comes from life all around and the music from multiple genres of music. His interests included current alternative vibes, classic rock riffs, hip hop beats and new electronic technology. Dolo is currently experimenting with pop ideas and meshing them with new sounds as he works towards the completion of his next album project. You will find much harmony, edge and groove on the upcoming release and it will be an expansion of earlier works.
The idea of paying it forward has become more important to Bill over the last few years and many of his musician friends and he are now looking for ways to give back to the community in any way possible including using his musical talents. He does charity work and participates in other non-profit organizations but wants to do more. One day after hearing of some people who give much of their time to help those in need, Bill came up with a deeper meaning of the word Dolo. He wanted it to be more than just the last 4 letters of his name or some slang term for his band so the phrase “Demonstrate Ordinary Love Outreach” was born and now is an alternate meaning to the term, Dolo. Bill hopes this will grow and inspire others to demonstrate their love to others in many ways to include giving to the poor, homeless, orphaned and widowed. Think of Dolo as a verb and act today! Pay it forward.
